“In Dream" is a film created by Chen Zhou, named after his son. In a forested area, Chen himself transforms into a ghost and repeatedly photographs a set of white bones, seemingly using the act of photography to confirm that death. Meanwhile, in another part of the forest, his son is asleep. "In Dream" poetically presents the ambiguous relationship between death, being alive, and dreaming. Interestingly, The film positions the audience from the first-person view of the skull. As the flash repeatedly illuminates the audience outside the screen, it draws the viewers into the dialectical experience of this dream-like state between life and death.
